Rhiag is the leading distributor of branded automotive spare parts in the independent Italian aftermarket and one of the largest players across Eastern Europe where it operates through a network of subsidiaries. Rhiag buys and distributes a wide range of products (including mechanical parts and electrical parts) to local wholesalers which, in turn, supply parts to garages. Rhiag also offers value added services and specialised training modules to its clients and garages in order to increase their loyalty.

In 2009, 54% of sales were generated in Italy. Switzerland and Eastern Europe (Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic) represented 46%. 

Following the acquisition, Alpha focused on restructuring loss making businesses of the group and improving working capital.

The European automotive aftermarket distribution is a consolidating market and Alpha looked for acquisitions all across Europe to make Rhiag one of the active player of this consolidation.

Independent automotive aftermarket distribution shows good resilience in crisis period.
